The Survey is now closed. Thank you to all those who completed it. Results will be available on this page soon...
One of the activities of the support themes is to monitor the attitude of the public to the use of crops for non-food purposes as well as to establish to what extent the use of genetically modified (GM) crops is found acceptable. As described in more detail in the October Newsletter, these questions are being addressed through a telephone survey within selected Member States using standard statistical selection of interviewees which will cover 600-800 people across 10 countries during October 2006.
We also welcomed a more general response, hence this Social Attitudes Survey was added to the website as an online version in October 2006.
The online survey was available until Friday 17th November; results from this online survey (which is expected to attract more scientists and those already involved in non-food activities) will then be compared with those from the telephone survey.
