EPOBIO is a new Science to Support Policy project funded by the European Commission in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The project is directed by Dianna Bowles, CNAP Director and Weston Chair of Biochemistry, Department of Biology, University of York and co-ordinated by David Clayton the Project Officer. There are 12 partners.
EPOBIO builds on the foresight and the foundation established during 2004/2005 by the US/EC Taskforce in Biotechnology Research - 'plant-based bioproducts: creating value from renewable resources'. Discussions were held at a workshop in Albany in April 2004 and the proceedings are recorded in the document Applications of Molecular Biology for the Production of Plants for Biobased Products and Biofuels.
